How We Group Students at SNH Tutoring

At SNH Tutoring, we believe every child learns at a different pace. That is why we do not group students simply according to their school year level. Instead, we group students based on their individual progression point, current understanding and learning needs.

A student may be in Year 5 at school but working confidently above their year level in Maths, while another student may need extra support with earlier concepts before moving forward. Placing both students in the same group just because they are the same age or year level may not provide the best learning experience.

Before placing a student into a group, we look at their current skills, school progress and areas where they may need support or extension. This helps us place them with students who are working at a similar progression point.

Our approach allows us to:

• Teach concepts at the right level for each student.
• Provide additional support where there are learning gaps.
• Extend students who are ready for more challenging work.
• Build confidence before introducing more difficult concepts.
• Allow students to progress at a pace that suits their learning needs.

We regularly monitor each student’s progress as they work through our lessons and weekly learning materials. As their skills and confidence develop, their learning can be adjusted accordingly.

At SNH Tutoring, our focus is not simply on what year level a student is in. Our focus is on where they are currently at, what they are ready to learn next and helping them continue to progress with confidence.
